Jacobs was a 28-year-old 'vegetarian hippie' when she was arrested after a 1976 shootout in which two cops were killed. Her first husband was executed for the crime before a witness recanted.

Former inmates Sonia "Sunny" Jacobs and Peter Pringle wed on November 13, 2011 in New York City after each spent more than 15 years on Death Row for murders they were later cleared of.

'Our fairy tale': Actress Brooke Shields, far left, Marlo Thomas and Amy Irving attended the wedding. They were in the play The Exonerated, which told Jacobs and Pringle's story.
