Melanie
McGUIRE |
A former state police computer examiner, Jennifer
Seymour, testified that a computer
in the McGuires' home
was used to do research on poisons, guns and murder in
the
weeks leading up to William McGuire's disappearance.
Terms searched included
"how to commit murder" and
"instant undetectable poison."
Dr. David Barron, a forensic toxicologist, told jurors
that a small amount of alcohol was
detected in the
victim's blood and urine. He said his Virginia
laboratory did not conduct
tests for chloral hydrate,
the sedative that prosecutors allege Melanie McGuire
used
to disable her husband before shooting him.
Defense attorney Stephen Turano listened March 15, 2007,
as prosecutors played audio
recordings of wiretaps on
phone conversations between his client, Melanie McGuire,
and friends and relatives.
