The Chief Crown prosecutor, Gavin Silbert, SC, told the court it
was 1.38am when Bayley
“accosted”
Ms Meagher and “proceeded to drag
her into a laneway on Hope St between
Oven St and Sydney Rd,
where
he has raped and strangled her".
