Brown denied parole S.S.
Friday, October 21, 2005
A man convicted of a 1974 murder and robbery
has been denied parole. 52 years-old Barry Austin Brown was convisted of
robbing and murdering a night clerk at a Santa Cruz 7-11 store.
Brown argued that he has been a model prisoner for 31 years now, and
so he has paid his debt to society. Prosecutor David Sherman argued
against Brown's release, saying Brown is still a danger to the community
because of the senselee, callousness with wich he committed several
premeditated murders (including the one in Santa Cruz).
Brown will not be eligible for parole again for the next 5 years.
