Hernandez and Christina Aragon at 3175 N. Price Road in Chandler. The

shooting, Aragon's two small sons were sleeping in the apartment.
During the investigation, police discovered the
suspect, who entered the residence, was Albert Martinez Carreon. Carreon
had ties to the New Mexican Mafia.
In her testimony, Aragon said she was approached by
two men, Robert Palofox and Richard Trujillo, who told her that
Hernandez was a snitch responsible for the arrest of Richard's brother,
Frank Trujillo, and they wanted Hernandez dead.
She said she agreed to set up Hernandez for the
murder by supplying information on his movements just to get out of
Richard Trujillo's Tempe home alive.
Aragon let Carreon, who had befriended Hernandez when
the two served in the same prison unit, into the house. Carreon, 40,
went to the bathroom and returned with his gun drawn. He shot Hernandez,
33, at close range in the head and then shot Aragon several times.
Aragon said she pretended to be dead while Carreon
beat her with his gun. She called the police after he left.
