an arrow drawn into the picture to emphasize the time.
Barbara Graham. This appears to be a record for the Los Angeles
Police Department giving basic
information on her name, address, occupation and charge for which
she was arrested.
Barbara Graham sits and listens while her lawyer (only his shoulder
visible from the back) talks.
She had claimed she was home fighting with her husband at the time
of the murder.
Barbara Graham. Here she is standing with handkerchief in hand. She
waged a battle
through the courts to avoid the gas chamber, but failed and was
executed in 1955.

Barbara Graham. Here her head is being checked because she had
complained of dizzy spells because
of a silver plate in her skull as a result of being thrown from a
motorcycle 12 years ago. Speculation
was ciculated that she might use a "temporary insanity" plea in her
appeal of the guilty verdict.
Photo of the spool of tape that recorded Barbara Graham's "ALIBI"
and typed transcript held
by Deputy District Attorney J. Miller Leavy. These are the tape
recordings, and the typewritten
transcripts from the recordings, which were revealed at the trial.
Recordings are of a
conversation held between a police officer, who posed as a friend of
the murder gang
defendants, and Barbara Graham, while she was in jail awaiting
trial.
They tricked her into disclosing plans for a fake alibi.
