Saint-Brieuc, FRANCE: Spaniard Francisco Arce Montes (L), sentenced
to 30 years in jail for the 1996 rape and murder of British
schoolgirl Caroline Dickinson, arrives 28 June 2005 on the last day
of his appeal trial at Saint-Brieuc courthouse. The appeal comes a
year after Arce Montes, a 55-year-old drifter with a long history of
sexual misconduct, was found guilty of smothering the 13-year-old to
death as he sexually assaulted her in a Brittany youth hostel in
July 1996.
