The Crew

 

Captain Ernest A. Clark, 52, of San Carlos, CA.

Born January 1st, 1912, in Nebraska.  Was a WWII Army pilot and senior pilot for PAL. He held a valid airline transport pilot certificate No. 33313 with type ratings in Douglas DC-3, Martin 202/404, and Fairchild F-27 aircraft. His physical qualifications were current and without waivers. He originally qualified in the F-27 on March 10, 1959. He had a total of 20,434:12 flying hours of which 2,793:40 hours were in F-27 aircraft. His last proficiency check in F-27 aircraft was on September 8, 1963.  

He was also the the father of Julie Clark, an accomplished aerobatics pilot and owner of the Mopar Parts T-34 Mentor, "Free Spirit", as well as two other daughters, Sharon and Judy.

 

 

First Officer Ray E. Andress, 31, of Santa Clara, CA.

Born December 20th, 1932 in California. The son of an FBI agent, and an expert in self-defense & Judo, he held valid commercial pilot certificate No. 1331370, with instrument rating. His physical qualifications were current. He originally qualified in the F-27 on April 15, 1959, and had his last proficiency check on February 16, 1964. He had a total of 6,640:4l flying hours of which 988:17 were in the F-27 aircraft.

A former B-47 pilot for the Strategic Air Command, he joined Pacific Air Lines in 1957.  He was in line for a promotion to captain with the airline.  He was also the father of four children.

Born October 11th, 1924, in Ohio. Was the mother of a small child
