Clarence David Hill - Released from Death Row!

October 12, 2005

Clarence David Hill, who has been on Death Row for 15 years for the murder of his Bullhead City, Arizona landlord, was released from Mohave County jail at approx. 5:00p.m. Wednesday Oct. 12, 2005.

Recent DNA testing found that the victims blood was not the blood found on Hill's clothing and on a bed sheet.

"It is more likely than not that no reasonable juror would have convicted Mr. Hill in light of the present DNA evidence," Judge Richard Weiss of Mohave County Superior Court wrote in an April 14 ruling to overturn Hill's conviction.

After 6 months of the DA trying to figure out how they were going to deal with this new evidence (without admitting they convicted the wrong man). They brought Mr. Hill back to Mohave County and today (Wednesday) they “let” him plead “No contest” to the charges and released him with time served.

Because of his ill health Mr. Hill accepted the deal.
