More than 500 police officers from 12 forces had searched for
Hobson.
Possible sightings came from as far away as New Zealand.
Hobson spent six days living rough under a
hedge before his arrest.
Police arrested Hobson after he was recognised buying matches at
a North Yorkshire filling station.
Hobson was treated for dehydration after his capture and was then
questioned by police.
The victims
Leeds Crown Court heard the murders of Claire Sanderson, 27,
and
her sister Diane were 'horrific and chilling'.
Police said it was still not clear why Hobson killed the Brittons,
who had
no apparent connection to the Sandersons.
