Statesman and murderer Thomas John Ley (1880 - 1946), circa 1947. In 1947, he was found guilty
of murdering barman John McBain Mudie and dumping his body in a chalkpit at Woldingham.
He was sentenced to death but later declared insane and sent to Broadmoor, where he died.
