Susan Atkins testified before the Los Angeles Grand Jury in
December 1969, which indicted five individuals
(including Atkins,
and Charles Manson) for the Tate-LaBianca killings. (December 5, 1969)
Leslie Louis Van Houghten, (yellow dress), is taken by
policewomen to a jail cell in the Hall of Justice, after
she and two
other girls waive arraignment on murder charges in connection with
the Tate-LaBianca slayings.
The three allegedly were members of a

attorney Daye Shinn, who has been retained by Miss
Atkins to defend
her in the murder trial in which Manson and several other members of

"family" are accused of murder of actress Sharon Tate and
five others last August. Miss Atkins
replaced attorney Richard
Caballero, who had represented her since her arrest, with Daye
Shinn.
