Ray Elmer Miller
was executed at the Nevada State Prison in Carson City on May 8, 1933.
He was convicted of murdering his wife in Las Vegas on December 1, 1932.
Miller was a native of Nebraska, 34 years old and a truck driver.
Miller
killed his wife Evelyn after she filed for divorce. She was going to the
office of her lawyers in Las Vegas to get a restraining order against
her husband because of threats he had made against her life.
As she was
climbing the stairs to her lawyers' office, Ray Miller shot his wife
twice. He was arrested as he was trying to fix his jammed gun.
He plead not
guilty but was convicted and executed.

died at the age of 34, executed in the Gas Chamber at Nevada's State
Prison.
He murdered his wife in Las Vegas on December 1st, 1932. His
wife was in the process of filing for a divorce, she was on her way to
her Lawyers Office to file a restraining order against her estranged
husband for making threats against her. As she was climbing the steps,
Miller shot his wife twice. His gun jammed, and he was arrested at the
scene.
He pled not guilty, but was still convicted and sentenced to
death.
