Simon Peter Nelson, 76, is serving a 100- to 200-year prison
sentence
for murdering his six children in 1978 in Rockford.

After killing his children while they slept in their Rockford home,
Nelson drove to a
Milwaukee hotel to beat his wife, Ann, who was
seeking a divorce. Nelson waived extradition and was
transferred to
the Winnebago County Public Safety Building in Rockford, where he
was held without bond.
This home, located on Camp Avenue in Rockford, is the scene of
the 1978 murders of the six Nelson children.
