After six months of investigations, the child's body
was found in a wood adjoining the city. She was raped and strangled.
Socley Gabriel, with a history of indecent assault,
despite his stubborn denials, was sentenced to death. A small procedural
irregularity did cancel the decision. He was retried in Dijon and
condemned to hard labour for life.
Released in 1960, he tried, after a month, cause a
girl. He was put to flight by passers-by. Arrest in the Yonne, he was
interned at the center of psychotherapeutic of Sarreguemines.
